The spring season has seen Kelowna garner more great media placements spanning a number of destination highlights; outdoor adventures, family travel, culture, wine, and nightlife.
Locally based freelance writer Lisa Kadane published two pieces in the spring/summer edition of YLW Connect (print circulation of 18,000): an Okanagan feature which promoted Kelowna’s culture musts and a profile of Kelowna’s after-hours scene.
Lisa also featured Kelowna in a family travel round up for Today’s Parent, which was distributed to the publication's online audience of over 1 million. The feature included profiles of the Kangaroo Creek Farm in Lake Country, the Myra Canyon trestles, fruit u-pick, Big White, and downtown Kelowna.
Writer Anne Fleischman was a media guest of Tourism Kelowna and Marriott this past September. Anne profiled BC, including Kelowna, in the latest print edition of French Chatelaine (circulation of 94,000).
Kate Robertson, a freelance writer from the Kootenays, was a guest of Tourism Kelowna’s this fall and again this April, gathering content for confirmed assignments with Senior Living and Soar. In April, Kate placed an article for Trivago, which included Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort as a result of her stays. This is a great example of the potential media hosting has to inform multiple placements.
Kelowna also saw strong coverage as a result of our ongoing media outreach and strong relationships. Myra Canyon’s draw as a cycling-travel must was featured in a syndicated piece through Post Media. Kelowna was named as the ideal home base when exploring Okanagan wine country on MSN Lifestyle. Finally, once again, strong Indigenous dining experiences were profiled by Matador Network.
