With an objective to inspire travel within our own province this year (especially in the shoulder seasons of April through June and September through November), Destination BC has launched a major in-province marketing and media campaign inviting British Columbians to get out and explore BC.

In addition to TV ads you may have already seen on Global, the campaign includes digital videos from each of BC’s tourism regions, print advertisements, and outdoor advertisements (posters,  billboards, etc.). Additional tactics like point of sale items at visitor centres, social media outreach and activation through partner channels round out the multi-media campaign. An Explore BC website offers trip ideas, travel tips and deals.

Visitors are encouraged to tag #explorebc in social media posts when they share their images and experiences (we hope they’ll tag #explorekelowna when in our area, too!).

Congratulations to the hardworking team at Destination BC for this great campaign! Tourism Kelowna looks forward to supporting your efforts, and we’re excited to welcome new and returning visitors to Kelowna and surrounding communities!

Also, be sure to tune in as Kelowna will be featured as part of Global TV’s newshour segments the week of April 20, as another element of this campaign.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Destination British Columbia directly. You can always contact me, too, at chris.shauf@tourismkelowna.com or (250) 861-1515 ext 203.

p.s. stay tuned for information on marketing and media campaigns in Washington and the United States, coming soon! We know there’s interest from our neighbours to the south, so we want to ensure they’re aware of all that we have to offer for a great vacation or visit.
