During the first quarter of 2026, our Community & Visitor Engagement team remained actively engaged across Kelowna, supporting six community events—some spanning multiple days—with our on-site mobile services.  These events included:

  • Okanagan College Careers Expo (February 4)
  • UBCO Career Fair (February 25–26)
  • Okanagan College Wellness Fair (March 4)
  • BC Tourism Industry Conference (March 4–6)
  • Lake Country Children’s Festival (March 7)
  • YLW Spring Travel Show (March 14)

While this time of year is typically quieter, our team engaged with approximately 700 attendees across these events, sharing information, providing support, making connections, and showcasing Kelowna as a welcoming, year-round destination.

Our mobile community and visitor engagement services play an important role in supporting Tourism Kelowna’s commitment to fostering a community-centred presence in Kelowna and the Central Okanagan. By attending events like those outlined above, our team provides tailored recommendations for visitors exploring the area, combining local expertise with maps and brochures to enhance their experience.

Set up at the BC Tourism Industry Conference.

During our attendance at the BC Tourism Industry Conference, our staff and volunteers also had the opportunity to connect with tourism industry members from across the province, exchanging insights and strengthening relationships within the broader tourism community. Events like this truly bring people together.

We also often incorporate small activations alongside our services to create engaging touchpoints and give back to the community. These can include giveaways, interactive games, or curated activity suggestions that encourage both visitors and locals to further explore not only the event but also the surrounding area.

For example, at the Okanagan College Wellness Fair, in partnership with Löyly Floating Sauna, we hosted a wellness-themed giveaway that included two Tofino Towels, two community sessions at the sauna, and our own OK + CO. toque and reusable water bottle. Connection is at the core of what we do, and through initiatives like these, we are able to collaborate with partners, showcase the amazing experience Kelowna offers, and enhance the overall event experience for attendees.

These experiences highlight the importance of maintaining a strong, visible presence within our community. As we head into the busier event season, our team looks forward to building on these connections, continuing to support local events, and helping both visitors and residents discover all that Kelowna has to offer.
