In addition to the recent award wins and achievements we celebrated in last week's post, we wanted to include an update on a few awards that were handed out during the past week.
LGBT2Q+
Dustyn Baulkham, Founder and Executive Producer of Rebellious Unicorns Production Company, was the winner of the Young LGBT+ Entrepreneur of the Year category at the CGLCC Business Leadership Awards, which were handed out at a virtual awards ceremony on November 5. You can view the gala and awards ceremony on YouTube (you'll find Dustyn's award around the 1h 41 m mark).
Industry
For the third year in a row, the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) has received "North America's Responsible Tourism Award" at the 2020 World Travel Awards (WTA), which were originally set to take place here in the Thompson Okanagan but due to COVID-19, were handed out at a virtual event on November 6. The WTA "acknowledges, rewards, and celebrates excellence across key sectors of the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries."
