It's almost time to celebrate one of our region's most important industries with BC Wine Month. Each April, Wine Growers British Columbia (WGBC) leads the charge in promoting BC Wine Month, with a comprehensive marketing and promotional campaign designed to amplify awareness and engagement across the province.
About BC Wine Month
BC Wine Month provides an opportunity for industry members and stakeholders to unite in celebration of the sector. Throughout the month, wineries, restaurants, liquor stores, and industry associations can engage customers through a variety of events and offerings, all of which highlight the diversity and quality of BC wines.
Through its digital advertising, social media campaigns, media outreach, and partnerships with influencers, WGBC will also shine the spotlight on BC wines. WGBC is committed to making BC Wine Month a success by connecting audiences and encouraging them to explore and celebrate all the sector has to offer.
How to Get Involved
Since the event is a month long, there is still time to plan your event or promotion if you haven't done so already!
Through its website, WGBC has compiled a variety of resources for industry partners to use during BC Wine Month:
- Access creative and fun inspiration starters (through the link above) for restaurants, liquor stores, wineries, tour operators, and winery associations.
- Download ready-to-use digital assets like logos, social media templates, and more to make promotion easy.
- Submit your BC wine events—you can view consumer events taking place during BC Wine Month on the WGBC website—or register your restaurant in the Pour More program.
You can also submit any events your business is hosting to Tourism Kelowna's online calendar and access Tourism Kelowna's Digital Asset Library to source wine-inspired photos captured within the Central Okanagan, which can be used for non-commercial materials that promote tourism activities, such as BC Wine Month.
Be sure to share information about your BC Wine Month plans with your customers and online audiences. When posting on social media, be sure to tag @WinesofBC and use #BCWineMonth to amplify your reach.
Kelowna's Wine Industry
Kelowna is the birthplace of the B.C. wine industry, and with nearly 40 wineries in and around the city, the sector is an important contributor to the region's local economy, jobs, and quality of life. Right after BC Wine Month, visitors to the region can join in the Okanagan Spring Wine Festival, with events taking place across the Valley from May 2 - 10, 2025.
Tourism Kelowna's Wineries Program focuses on driving traffic and business to Central Okanagan wineries. Targeting key demographic and geographic audiences through various advertising tactics, this collaborative program highlights the exceptional quality of the wine and wine-related experiences in the destination.
