Each April, Wine Growers British Columbia (WGBC) leads the charge in promoting BC Wine Month through a comprehensive marketing and promotional campaign to amplify awareness and engagement across the province.

About BC Wine Month

BC Wine Month is an invitation to Sip the Spring and experience the very best of British Columbia wine. Throughout April, WGBC invites restaurants, liquor retailers, and hospitality partners across the province to showcase BC wine through curated features, in-store highlights, and seasonal experiences that inspire discovery.

Now in its ninth year, BC Wine Month has been officially proclaimed by the BC government, recognizing the vital role BC’s wine industry plays in the province’s economy, tourism, and culture.

From by-the-glass features and food pairings to retail displays and staff picks, participation is simple and flexible, designed to fit your business and your customers.

How to Get Involved

Through its website, WGBC has compiled a variety of resources to use during BC Wine Month:

You can also submit any events your business is hosting to Tourism Kelowna's online calendar and access Tourism Kelowna's Digital Asset Library to source wine-inspired photos captured within the Central Okanagan, which can be used for non-commercial materials that promote tourism activities, such as BC Wine Month

Be sure to share information about your BC Wine Month plans with your customers and online audiences. When posting on social media, be sure to tag @WinesofBC and use #BCWineMonth to amplify your reach.

Kelowna's Wine Industry

Kelowna is the birthplace of the BC wine industry, and with more than 40 wineries in and around the city, the sector is an important contributor to the region's local economy, jobs, and quality of life. Right after BC Wine Month, visitors to the region can join in the Okanagan Spring Wine Festival, with events taking place across the Valley from May 1–10, 2026.

Tourism Kelowna's Wine Spots Program was built to elevate wineries and wine-focused tasting rooms across the Okanagan. Targeting key demographic and geographic audiences through various advertising tactics, this collaborative program highlights the exceptional quality of the wine and wine-related experiences in the destination.
