Tourism Kelowna is a research-based organization, and as such, we conduct several annual surveys and research projects. These allow us to gather feedback, measure results, and inform future planning. Tourism Kelowna stakeholders are an especially important audience to hear from, comprised of over 400 tourism-related businesses who have invested funds with us for destination marketing or to promote their own businesses – and for that we are grateful.
We have once again engaged Larose Research & Strategy to conduct our annual stakeholder survey. Voting stakeholders will soon receive the electronic survey invitation to complete 12 short questions designed to provide your perspective and feedback on Tourism Kelowna's programs and services. This survey is one of the many important tools we use to evaluate the effectiveness of our programs and to help shape strategic direction. This year has included additional, significant challenges for our local tourism industry to respond to COVID-19, and to help separate that unique event from our regular operations, we have added a couple of questions this year specifically on that topic.
We look forward to hearing your perspective and your opinions. To encourage your response we have shortened the survey to less than 10 minutes and removed any identifiers so you can be confident that your feedback is anonymous. The survey should be completed by the voting stakeholder in your company or organization. If someone from your organization other than the voting representative responded to the survey last year, that individual should respond again this year if possible.
Feedback from previous years has resulted in Tourism Kelowna launching a series of tourism information “Plug-In” sessions exclusively for stakeholders, providing added value for those respondents seeking more benefits and resources. You also asked for expanded efforts to attract meetings and conferences, which led to a new partnership with Destinations Canada and the innovative Economic Sector Strategy.
