The City of Kelowna is in the process of updating its Cultural Plan and is inviting individuals, organizations, and businesses to hold a "Host Your Own Engagement" event during phase two of the process.

“We’re looking for groups to have open and honest conversations about the Cultural Plan’s current goals, where the priorities are, what’s missing, and strategies to achieve those goals,” said Christine McWillis, Cultural Services Manager. “We’ll provide a toolkit to assist with the conversation, but the format for how the discussion takes place is open to the individuals or organization.”

Those individuals or organizations who are interested in hosting an event can apply for a $250 to $500 grant from the City to cover event costs. More information about the grant and the engagement events will be provided at an information session taking place this Thursday, November 29 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at City Hall. Those interested in attending the information session must register in advance

As part of the Cultural Plan Advisory Group, Tourism Kelowna will provide input on behalf of our tourism industry partners; however, it would be beneficial for tourism businesses and individuals working within the industry to provide their vision for the evolution of Kelowna's arts, culture, and heritage through the various phases of the City's process. Those who are interested can also provide their individual feedback via an online survey.
