Seedy Sunday is a part of hundreds of Seed Events across Canada in the late winter early spring, all set their tone and organizational ideas from Seeds of Diversity, who are dedicated to the preservation of endangered seeds and promotion of seed diversity. A portion of the $2 admission we charge goes to help support Seeds of Diversity.
The Okanagan Master Gardeners are a non-profit organization whose mandate is to support and help educate sustainable gardening practices throughout the Okanagan. Our annual Seedy Sunday event is the perfect way to begin our year. We have a great turn out of members who enjoy working alongside local organic farmers, gardening organizations and a variety of garden related local seed and plant based businesses. All are there to offer you great advice. The event is a real coming together of like minded individuals and it is always a pleasure to assist and encourage the public in getting a head start on spring with organic, heirloom and rare seeds and plants. Food trucks will also be on hand.
Sunday March 10, 2024 is an exciting day for us as we get a head start on Spring. We are looking forward to offering workshops for adults (at no charge) and activities for children. As usual we will be running our own Seed Swap table and invite everyone to participate, whether they have seeds to trade or not.
