You are invited to come ride the historic Kettle Valley Rail Trail from Kelowna to Penticton (80 km), starting at the famous Myra Canyon. We have added a 40k m option starting at Chute Lake Resort and a 20 km option starting at Glenfir. All distances finish at the Penticton Lakeside Resort. The 80 km ride is the most popular.
Join us for this fun-oriented, non-competitive event. The 80 km route starts with 18 trestles and two tunnels, beautiful views, flat profile for the first 36 km then a 2.2% decline to Penticton. The 4 0km route starts at the halfway point, Chute Lake, then goes through Rock Oven Regional Park, Naramata Wine Country, and is a 2.2% decline to Penticton. The 20 km route starts at Glenfir Loop; there is 4 km of gravel then 16 km of recycled asphalt. Bring your camera!
There will be 5 rest stops with food and drinks, as well as mechanical support and first aid en route. When you arrive in Penticton you will be greeted with live music, bbq, beer, wine, cider, and more.
It is the 103rd Anniversary of the completion of the Kettle Valley Railway and the 104th anniversary of the completion of Myra Canyon trestles. The trestles were re-opened in 2008, (10 years ago) after the 2003 Okanagan Mountain Fire with a great celebration. Now, it is time to celebrate this amazing trail and history again.
