Join us at Jacko’s Underground Lounge for the Moonlight Jazz Society’s fifth concert of its second Winter Concert Series! MJS is proud to present vocalist, composer, and arranger Leila Naderi.

After a lifetime of running from what she loved the most, this award-winning artist (also known as Leila Neverland) is arriving on the jazz scene with grace and fortitude. Set to tour throughout the United States and beyond, this little woman has "one of the best voices in jazz" (Artistic Director, Tyrant Studios, Vancouver, BC).
Through hardship and heartbreak, she transcends the archetype of the suffering rock star to sing her favourite genre, try her hand at arranging her favourite tunes, and even offer up new compositions to the jazz catalogue for generations to come. Her favourite vocalists include everyone from Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday to Bjork and Celine Dion. She also uses inspiration from old musicals in her compositions and arrangements, and spent many years in musical theatre studying with Barbara Young, Mitch Bondy, and the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus.

MJS is so excited to host our budding co-founder for a night of vocal jazz. Moonlight Jazz Society (MJS) is a NEW non-profit focused on facilitating connection between primarily composers and arrangers, venues, and audiences to foster synergy in the local and provincial jazz community. In its second year, the Moonlight Jazz Society looks forward to supporting an amazing lineup of touring jazz artists at the Vibrant Vine’s cozy wine and meal-centred environment, and adds a Sunday series to its efforts with all ages emerging artist pop-up concerts at the French Cultural Centre in downtown Kelowna. Coffee, tea, desserts and a place to support our youth will have both series offer up different yet equally as enjoyable vibes. Taste a little bit of everything every month, show your arts’ patronage, become part of the family!

Sponsors include: Wentworth Music, Coast Capri Hotel, the French Cultural Centre, the Vibrant Vine Winery, Urban Harvest Organic Delivery, Cherryhill Coffee, Rory Fader Piano Tuning Services, Simon Nuttgens, David Willoughby, Clear Design, and Joe Auty.
