Join the Society of Scholars on January 25 for another edition of UBCO’s iconic Life Raft Debate. Watch as instructors from different faculties debate against each other to prove that their discipline is superior to all others when it comes to starting a new civilization.

Debaters in this year’s Life Raft Debate must imagine that an evil scientist has vaporized much of the planet. Empires have collapsed, resources have been depleted, and the human race is hanging on by a thread. By chance, an island was found where humans can restart, and there is only one space left on the last life raft heading for the island.

Which of the debaters are indispensable to UBC and the greater community?
