Ben Klick - Cliché Country Boy
Ben Klick is a super talented Kelowna country artist. A first round 2017 JUNO Award nominee and a 2016 BCCMA Award winner, Klick is already making waves and appears to have a long and successful career ahead of him. This tune - Cliché Country Boy - is my favourite of his. You can catch this guitar pickin' country gentleman performing locally this fall - he’ll be at the Creekside Theatre on November 23rd. Keep an eye on Klick’s official website here.
Bend Sinister - Walk the Other Way
Canadian prog rock band Bend Sinister released their latest record, “The Other Way” this past week. The band now reside in Vancouver, but originated right here in Kelowna. The first single from their new EP is Walk the Other Way. Check it out below and keep tabs on the band here.
Joshua Smith - Someday
Originally from Canada’s east coast, Joshua Smith now calls Kelowna home. If you get the opportunity to see Smith perform, take it. He makes a delightful brand of soulful folk music. He released his latest single, Someday, earlier this month and you can give it a listen below. Smith regularly performs around Kelowna, so keep an eye on his Facebook page for news of upcoming gigs.
Windmills - What Do We Talk About (When We Talk About Love)?
Windmills will be familiar to many Kelowna music fans, and if he’s not yet on your radar, do yourself a favour and check out his sounds. The moody indie swoon pop artist’s latest record, “Death Of A Ladies’ Man”, drops on September 29th, and it will be released on vinyl as well. The second single from the record is What Do We Talk About (When We Talk About Love)? Connect with Windmills via his Facebook page, and stay up to date on upcoming shows and more.
Yukon Blonde - Crazy
Yukon Blonde got their start in Kelowna back in 2005. In those days, the indie rockers were known as Alpha Baby. They have since moved to Vancouver, but they do perform quite regularly in Kelowna. In fact, Yukon Blonde will be back in Kelowna this fall - they’re playing the Kelowna Community Theatre with the Rural Alberta Advantage on November 25th. Find Yukon Blonde online via their official website. Check out their song, Crazy, below...
And before I go, here’s an interesting little tidbit for you - did you know there’s a band from London, England called “Kelowna Reach”? It’s true. Pretty cool, eh? Check them out here.
