Begin your first day by taking advantage of Kelowna's many winter activities. Head to Big White Ski Resort, a ski-in, ski-out village, a short hour’s drive from Kelowna. This magical winter wonderland lets you ski, snowboard, skate, go tubing, relax on a sleigh ride, venture some dogsledding, or even try fat tire biking.

But, as this resort gets rather busy, you may prefer to skate downtown at Stuart Park, a free outdoor rink where you’ll enjoy getting toasty by the fire pit. Lastly, Knox Mountain Park, known for its breathtaking outlooks, is another way to enjoy winter hiking and the outdoors.

Saturday Afternoon: Wine Tasting

Warm up in the afternoon with some of the Okanagan’s finest-tasting wines. Melt away your stress with a guided wine tour where intriguing winery stories complement the delicious wines. Be sure to include the following wineries in your travels.

Mission Hill Family Estate Winery is an award-winning winery, including the first-ever perfect-scored Canadian red wine. You’ll also adore its stunning architecture and the spectacular sights of West Kelowna. The Terrace Restaurant is open for lunch and serves elevated comfort food that pairs effortlessly with its wines.

The View Winery & Vineyard, located in the heart of Kelowna, is a dog-friendly winery that takes reservations but also offers walk-ins for those who aren’t as prepared. The winery features incredible tastings such as the Sip & Dip, where you’ll savour decadent cheese and chocolate paired with fondue in their barrel room.

Gray Monk Estate Winery overlooks Okanagan Lake and provides a tasting trio experience where three featured wines are paired with three canapés for an undeniably enjoyable event. The Lookout restaurant is open for lunch with sharable dishes or single entrees.

Saturday Evening: Nightlife & Sports

Nothing says Saturday night in Kelowna quite like a hockey game, a delicious dinner of local food, and the potential for live music.

Now through March, the Kelowna Rockets will fire up your night with a riveting game of Canada’s number one sport, hockey, at Prospera Place. Next, make the most of your post-game winddown with dinner at one of Kelowna’s top farm-to-table restaurants. The OAK + CRU Social Kitchen & Wine Bar gets much of its meal inspirations from their wood-stone oven and the local Okanagan abundance.

If you prefer to switch up your evening, you may prefer a self-guided farm tour before you attend a hockey game, or you may decide you’d like to end your night with some live music.

Sunday Morning: Shopping

After a fantastic Saturday, Sunday morning breakfast is a must-do. Lucky for you, the Okanagan is fully prepared to satisfy your rumbling stomach. Sunny's Modern Diner in Downtown Kelowna offers scrumptious bites from classics to their Chicks on a Raft and Chicken Meets Waffle, both featured on Food Network Canada's Big Food Bucket List.

After you’ve filled your belly, how about a bit of light morning shopping? Downtown is home to over 250 boutiques, galleries, and shops. In the District on Bernard, you’ll discover shops such as Cosmetic Culture, Ready to Cook, Amni Apparel, and so much more. Pandosy Village is another great shopping option with cute colourful European-esque storefronts welcoming you to look through their clothing, books, home apparel, jewellery, and other wares.

Sunday Afternoon - Art & Museum Hopping

Sunday afternoon is the perfect moment to get your culture on, and Kelowna is overflowing with it. Whether you fancy a trip to a museum, want to meander the streets admiring the local art, or perhaps catch a community show, you’re spoiled for choice. The Kelowna Art Gallery is home to intriguing exhibits highlighting contemporary Canadian art. Bonus—it hosts family Sundays, when visitors get to take part in an interactive art activity.

Want to get some fresh air and enjoy some art? Public Art showcases local artists' murals, sculptures, and other art creations within the various Kelowna neighbourhoods; it’s a great way to explore the city like a local.

Prefer to stay indoors? Rotary Centre for the Arts lets you treat your senses to visual sights and performing arts presentations. Keep in mind that exhibits change seasonally, so what you catch during the winter may not be there in the spring, fall, or summer.

Sunday Evening: A Delicious Farewell

An epic stay deserves an epic last meal before you go. Mid-Town Station has a modern atmosphere with rustic touches and an inviting smell when you enter the doors. Conveniently close to downtown, its positive vibe is the perfect way to bookend your quick trip to Kelowna. The restaurant has a delightful array of dishes, including everything from a Mediterranean nosh board and warm pretzels and beer cheese to beef drip and a sweet ending of a dark chocolate bar; you really can’t go wrong.
