I have my favourites in Kelowna, hip-hop brunches, winery lunches, and brewery dinners (yes, all my favourites are meals.) And my kids have their favourites. Not surprisingly, theirs differ slightly from mine. With spring break around the corner, here are Kelowna’s hottest hangouts for kids, as decided by Sophia (8) and Ella (5).

1. Best way to get the most out of your vacay – H2O Adventure & Fitness Centre

Regardless of weather, this one is unanimous year-round in our family. The flow rider for surfing, wave pool, in-pool playground (Ella’s favourite), river run and three wicked waterslides (Sophia’s favourite), H2O will keep you busy for hours!

2. Best place to let loose – EnergyPlex

This indoor park has everything! Not actually, but if you ask the girls it does. A climbing wall, laser tag, and a ropes course are perfect for older kids. Sophia loves the tumbling room where she gets to leap into the foam pit. Ella can usually be found on the multi-story play maze or gathering balls in the cannon gallery. And the topper, if you’re there for a birthday you leave with a slushie.

3. Best place to game – Scandia Golf & Games

This one’s a classic for a reason. Rooms full of arcade offerings, indoor and outdoor mini golf, batting cages and go-karts, there’s almost too much to do. Our family’s favourite is the classic game room for collecting those oh-so-coveted tickets. Recent updates include some digital games which even adults will find hard to peel themselves away from.

4. Best family ‘date’ night spot – Cineplex Cinemas Orchard Plaza

Movie night is another unanimous year-round favourite. Whether minions are babbling incoherently or a Pixar character is adventuring, both Sophia and Ella agree that the theatre is the place to watch. Why Cineplex? They have oversize lounge seats that make movie nights out feel like home.
