I wanted to create simple recipes for you to try at home with your family and household. The winter season is the time we all love our egg nogs so I thought I would create a recipe that can be replicated with ease to impress your loved ones during the colder months or any time of the year.
Easy Egg Nog
Recipe
- 2oz Okanagan Spirits BRBN Whiskey
- 0.5oz simple syrup
- 1 Egg yolk
- 1.5oz milk
- Freshly grated nutmeg (garnish)
In a shaker add the egg yolk, whiskey, milk, and syrup, and give it a quick dry shake (without ice). Open the shaker up and add lots of ice. Shake hard until it's nice and cold, then strain into a glass of your choice. Garnish the drink with traditional freshly grated nutmeg to add some zing to the beverage.
Black Flip
The Flip cocktail is hands down my favourite go-to winter cocktail. For this recipe, I added stout to the mix to add to the richness. This cocktail calls for a whole egg...yes, a whole egg! This drink is best with fresh local eggs.
Recipe
- 2oz Red Bird Tomb Stout
- 1.5oz Okanagan Spirits Rye Whiskey
- 0.25oz maple syrup (add more if needed)
- 1 whole egg
- Freshly grated nutmeg (garnish)
First, add the stout in a shaker and pour into another shaker a few times to decarbonate the beer. Then add the egg, whiskey, and maple syrup, and give it a quick dry shake (without ice) Open the shaker up and add lots of ice. Shake hard until it's nice and cold and strain into a glass of your choice. Garnish the drink with traditional freshly grated nutmeg.
