Bubbles are not just for special celebrations; they are for every kind of day in any kind of weather – especially summer! Sparkling wine will instantly transform the vibe from normal fun to fancy fun – rarely will you find a person with a glass of sparkling wine in hand that is not smiling.

Local bubbles are lovely and here in our own wine hood, we have loads of choices.  As usual, you'll have the most fun shopping at the wineries, so plan for a tasting and shopping tour if you can.

Sparkling Riesling

Peak Cellars and O’Rourke Family Vineyards - One of the most buzzed about wine projects in B.C., the O’Rourke family is building an empire in Lake Country that will include two wineries, restaurants, accommodations, a concert venue and much more. Each winery has its own speciality profile – Peak Cellars focussing on crisp Alsatian varieties like Riesling and O’Rourke Family Vineyards on Burgundian wines featuring Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The winery and restaurant at Peak Cellars is currently open to visit but O’Rourke Family Vineyards is still under construction.

2020 Vintage Notes: Aromas of key lime and green apple awaken your senses, which are then dazzled with nuances of apple Danish, a subtle hint of toast and an invigorating spritz. The delicate, fine mousse and vibrant, fresh palate showcases all of the classic dry Riesling characteristics and the racy acidity is balanced with a low dosage of sugar liqueur.

2020 Organic Ruby Pet Nat - Sperling Vineyards

Organic Ruby Pet Nat

Sperling Vineyards - Local and biodynamic, this uber-local winery (located just off of Benvoulin Road beside Father Pandosy Mission), is owned and operated by one of Kelowna’s heritage farming families. Besides a great history to share, the Sperling crew brings you organic and biodynamic libations through the careful stewardship of their biodynamically farmed land to their natural style of winemaking.

2020 Vintage Notes: Yes, an organic RED bubbly! They then fermented whole clusters and berries for 5 days, then pressed, and blended in a bit of Pinot Noir. Lively, fresh and slightly effervescent – a great pizza wine says winemaker Ann Sperling.

Cipes Brut Rosé NV

Summerhill Pyramid Winery - Another Pioneer in biodynamic farming and winemaking, if you have not had Summerhill sparkling yet, where have you been? Joking aside, the Cipes family has taken our wine town around the world and to the top of the sparkling wine scene over the past few years with loads of awards. Here while you are shopping you can also stay for lunch and soak in the lake view.

Notes: Enjoy a soft, creamy mouthfeel and intense notes of tart cherry, blood orange, hibiscus, grapefruit and a hint of biscuit. Bright and mouth-watering with a long, lingering finish. Made from grapes grown in organic Okanagan vineyards especially suited for sparkling wine production.

Mt. Bubbles - Mt. Boucherie Winery

Mt. Bubbles

Mt Boucherie Winery - Located on the eastern shadow of the former volcano, the reincarnation of this small family winery into a super chic, concrete work of art is on the ‘newish’ destination winery list. After taking in the architecture, sit down for a bite. They also have a buzzed about restaurant called The Modest Butcher on site that features – you guessed it – steak!

Notes: 100% Chardonnay, this is a dry style of sparkling made “Frizzante” style. This wine is full of vibrant acidity, with citrus and green apple aromas. Perfect as an aperitif or with light, clean dishes, summer salads with goat cheese, shellfish and oysters.

Vibranté Classiqué Brut

Vibrant Vine Winery - Wine, Art and Sound, is the tagline for Southeast Kelowna’s most colourful experiences. True that, they have wine, an art gallery and a music venue all on site. The villa grounds are beautifully landscaped with gardens galore and the estate is actually available for rent for events. Lots of concerts are booked at their outdoor stage and Jacko’s lounge downstairs is also a music venue.

2018 Vintage Notes: A vibrant beautiful Okanagan bubbly with fresh aromas of crisp pear, ripe flavours of quince, apple and lemon rind, following through to a fine finish on the palate. Made in the traditional method, the label features a drawing of their home at the winery, Okanagan Villa
