One of the world’s most popular operas is coming to Kelowna. This season Opera Kelowna is putting on performances of Puccini’s La bohème. The opera is regularly performed around the world and has inspired many other stories including the 1996 musical Rent which was based on La bohème.
Set in the 1840s, La bohème contains four acts and centres around a number of young Parisians and the strife the group encounters as they seek both love and art.
Opera Kelowna brings this wonderful opera to life for an Okanagan audience with unforgettable performances at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Friday, August 18 and Saturday, August 19, 2017.
General admission tickets start at a very reasonable $72.50 and can be purchased online here. Tickets can also be bought in person at Kelowna Tickets in Orchard Park Shopping Centre or at Kelowna's Visitor Centre at 544 Harvey Avenue.
Based on my experiences with Opera Kelowna, I am confident in saying that you won't be disappointed as this show is worth every penny and even more.
Attending an Opera Kelowna performance is a truly immersive experience, with amazing performances and incredible costuming.
The Opera Kelowna Society is a registered non-profit and is dedicated to providing high-quality performances for local audiences and training upcoming operatic artists.
