It's pumpkin season, which means it's time to start making pumpkin pies and carving jack o’ lanterns. Interesting fact, the pumpkin had been grown in North America for over 5,000 years! I did a poll on my Instagram to see how much people loved or hate pumpkin - the result was a 60/40 split with people loving pumpkin. Hopefully, I can convert more people onto pumpkins!

Smashing Pumpkins

Smashing Pumpkin Cocktail

Recipe
  • 2oz Okanagan Spirits BRBN Whiskey
  • 0.75oz maple syrup
  • 1oz lemon juice
  • 1 spoon pumpkin puree
  • 1 small pinch garam masala spice
  • Garnish lemon wheel if you want or nothing
Directions

In a shaker, add the pumpkin puree, BRBN whiskey, lemon juice, maple syrup, and a small pinch of the garam masala. Add lots of ice to fill the shaker and shake hard until nice and cold. Strain into a rock glass filled with ice. I recommend double straining with a tea strainer to remove the small bits of pumpkin and spices so you can enjoy a much cleaner cocktail. Garnish with a lemon wheel if desired.

The pumpkin puree is so easy to make, simply throw pumpkin chunks and a little water into a blender and process until smooth. That’s how easy it is! This will keep in the fridge for a week.
