Parks & Beaches to Explore

Cedar Creek Park is one of the local residents’ favourite—and undisclosed—park-beach combinations. Pups love to run along the off-leash beach and splash in the water while their owners soak in the surrounding mountains and lake. You’ll want to enjoy a packed lunch at one of the nearby picnic tables. There’s also a small boat launch, so feel free to bring a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard to find some peace right on the water. Prefer to completely immerse yourself in the water? Be sure to bring some swim shoes or sandals as there are rocks along the shore, and they can be slippery.
Manhattan Beach Access is a quiet beach perfect for families who want to avoid the crowds. It has plenty of sand for young kids who want to build castles and dig moats, plus a small play area with a swing set. Soft grass surrounds the beach area, making it ideal for a pickup game of soccer, bocce ball, or your favourite sport with the family. The only caveat is that this beach access doesn’t allow dogs in the park.
McKinley Mountain Park offers fantastic views of Okanagan Lake and has a short tranquil trail leading to the top. You can chill on one of the benches and admire the scenery when you've reached the summit. Hiker’s tip: you’ll have to travel through some private property on the initial part of the climb, but if you stick to the path, you’ll be fine. Leashed dogs are welcome.

Kids especially enjoy watching squirrels chase each other up the trees and snack on the acorns they find. However, keep in mind that dogs aren’t allowed in the park, so you’ll need to leave your furry friend behind.
Kasugai Gardens is a stunning, one-of-a-kind park featuring traditional Japanese elements such as waterfalls, stone lanterns, and a Koi Pond. Built to celebrate the friendship between Kelowna and its sister city, Kasugai, this peaceful retreat feels like stepping from Canada straight into Japan.
