Kid Friendly Short Hikes in Kelowna

There are many hikes in Kelowna that can be tackled in 60 minutes or less. These short jaunts can take you to waterfalls, along creeks, and through forests. The hikes listed below are in the easy category and fun for the whole family.


Dilworth Mountain Park

The Dilworth Mountain loop provides an easy 0.86 km path which provides hikers with great views of Kelowna complete with benches to take it all in!

Layer Cake Mountain via Mission Creek Greenway

Layer Cake Mountain via Mission Creek Greenway consists of a 2 km easy trail which provides outstanding views of the fascinating geological formation the mountain is named for.

Shannon Lake Regional Park

An easy 1.8 km trail around Shannon Lake in West Kelowna provides hikers with the opportunity to explore this regional park. Stocked with rainbow trout, Shannon Lake is known for fishing and is a great spot for kids to learn to fish.

Hidden Lake Parkway

The Hidden Lake Parkway provides a stroller-friendly gravel path that hugs along two marshy ponds. Keep your eyes open for turtles during your walk.

Fintry Provincial Park

A spectacular waterfall hike can be found at Fintry Provincial Park. While the trail and stairway to view the falls is only 1 km long, there are many options to explore further the trail around the historic buildings located within the park.
