Looking for the best way to spend Father’s Day in Kelowna? From comedy to beer tasting, here are some suggestions on how to have a weekend full of adventure, relaxation, and dad-approved good times!

Laugh with Dad

Check out the Kelowna Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Night and get ready to chuckle the night away at the Mary Irwin Theatre at the Rotary Centre for the Arts in downtown Kelowna. Top comedians will take the stage to deliver a fun-filled evening to remember, with Patrick Maliha headlining on Saturday June 15 at 7pm. Tickets are $39.95 and can be purchased here.

Go On a Fishing Adventure

We often go fishing as a family activity and why not make it an annual Father’s Day tradition. My kids and my husband love to bond while casting a line! The Regional District of the Central Okanagan will be hosting free fishing event, "Go Fish!", on June 15 and 16 between 10am to 3pm at the Hall Road Pond in East Kelowna and Shannon Lake Regional Park in West Kelowna. Designed to introduce kids to fishing, this would be a perfect activity for father figures and the young kids in their lives to appreciate the great outdoors together. Staff will be on hand to teach fishing skills, and no fishing license is required for BC youth aged 15 years and under. For more information, click here.

For anglers who are looking for a friendly competition, Rustic Reel Brewing is hosting its 2nd annual A Reel Fishing Derby on Father’s Day weekend. Registration fees are $55 for adults, and $20 for kids aged 12 and under. You can sign up here, before picking up your race package on Friday, June 14th. On Saturday, June 15, choose a spot on Okanagan Lake and go fishing with Dad between 7am and 7pm with your derby wristbands on and your official ruler. Lure your best catch and then submit your fish measurements online. On Sunday, June 16, head down to the brewing company to see if you have won a prize! The restaurant will also be serving Father’s Day Brunch, and derby participants get 10% off their meal.

Do an Activity Together

Rev up your engines and head down to the CSN Collision Father’s Day Car Show at City Park on Sunday, June 16th, 2024 from 11am to 4pm. From hot rods to motorcycles to classic cars, this will be a paradise for car enthusiasts. Bring Dad to enjoy his special day with roaring engines and shiny chrome. Food and beverage trucks will be onsite for event-goers who need a refuel.

If your dad is more of a country fan, the Luckhurst Farm & Distillery will be hosting the East Kelowna Market on Sunday, June 16 from 11am to 3pm. With special giveaways for Father’s Day, a showcase of antique collectables and live music, this will be a unique experience with Dad that you don't want to miss. Lunch options will be available on site. Tell dad he can bring his best furry friend - dogs are welcomed on a leash.

Share a Meal

Our family eats at least one meal together almost everyday, and Father’s Day is no exception. Craft Beer Market will be presenting their Father’s Day brunch buffet from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, June 16. Savour dad’s favourite breakfast classics like Eggs Benedict, Omelets and Bacon for $35.95 for each adult, and kids under 12 are $15.95.

If you’re looking for a lunch option, join the crew at Little Straw Vineyards for their Sunday Special. Get 3 Samosas and 1 Mimosa for $13 from noon to 3pm. There will also be live piano music by Steven Zhu for you and Dad to have a relaxing and musical Father’s Day.
