When the snow begins to fall in Kelowna, the landscape transforms into picture-perfect winter wonderland.  One of the loveliest things to do to celebrate the official arrival of snow season is to find a cozy seat by a window to count snowflakes as they fall. Even better, do this with a delicious glass of BC bubbly or an amazing cocktail in hand. Here are the most beautiful places to sip and enjoy a snow show: 

The Eldorado Hotel

The Eldorado Hotel has ambiance galore during the holiday. The "El" offers one of the loveliest lakeside dining rooms to gaze out to their boardwalk and lake. They always do a lovely job decorating and the outdoor lights on the dock and simply magical on a snowy winter’s eve. Maybe go old school and order a Crantini. 

CedarCreek Estate Winery’s Home Block

The drive to CedarCreek Estate Winery has Home Block Restaurant, which will have you feeling the holiday spirit before you even get there. Surrounded by cedar trees and vines, there is a wall of glass to view the outdoors from within. However, if you book a Fireside Tasting, you can bundle up and sit outside in their outdoor fireside lounge and sample CedarCreek’s award-winning wines under a shower of snowflakes. 

Quails' Gate

Quails' Gate could not offer a more perfectly festive and charming room to snowflake watch from. The Old Vines Restaurant is surrounded by windows that look out their vineyard on to the lake with twinkling lights that decorate the property. Here you must have a glass of their own Quails’ Gate bubbly and maybe some oysters to complete your blissful state. 

Frind Estate Winery

If you want to fully immerse yourself in a winterscape, Frind Estate Winery in West Kelowna has beautiful lakeside domes set up for winter dining that are simply magical. Watch the snow fall all around you in your own little see-through igloo and enjoy a glass of Frind bubbly and some delicious bites. 

OAK + CRU Social Kitchen + Wine Bar

Bouchons Bistro always feels like a special occasion. Transport to the magic of a café in France in downtown Kelowna. If you choose a window seat, you can watch the snow and sip maybe a glass of Port to be fancy.  If you go on certain days of the week, you can also order a fondue to share, mais oui! 

Earls

Earls downtown also offers a wonderful view of Okanagan Lake to sit and watch the snowflakes fall. There are actually two Happy hour time slots at Earls every day – first is from is 2-5 pm and then again at 9-pm close. Go with the festive vibe and order Winter Sangria made with red wine, St. Remy brandy, cranberries, spice. 

Cactus Club

Another great downtown lakeside location with window seats is the ever-popular Cactus Club. A prime location to grab a table to hang out with great snowy lake views.  A Moscow Mule made with Smirnoff vodka, fresh squeezed lime, ginger beer, served in a copper cup would be apropos for this winter mood. 

Imagine Al Fresco Dining at Summerhill Winery
