The amazing seasonal produce is appearing at the Kelowna Farmers Market and summer is just beginning. Strawberries and Rhubarb along with herbs are usually the first you will see around the market at this time of the year.

This great recipe is versatile and can be switched up with a variety of ingredients, try it with different herbs and use local fruits that are in season, so you can fully explore what Kelowna has to offer in a glass!

Strawberry Fields

Strawberry Fields Cocktail

Recipe
  • 1.5oz Urban Distilleries Pauls Tomb Gin
  • .5 Okanagan Spirits Rhubarb Liqueur
  • 3 Muddled Strawberries
  • 3 Basil Leaves
  • 1oz Lemon Juice
  • 1oz Simple Syrup
  • Garnish black peppercorn crushed and basil leaf
Directions

In a cocktail shaker muddle the strawberries and basil leaves. Add in the Gin, Rhubarb liqueur, lemon juice and simple syrup. Then add lots of ice to fill up the shaker and shake hard for 10 seconds until nice and cold. Double strain the drink using a tea strainer into a rock glass with fresh ice. Garnish with basil leaves and crushed black peppercorn.

  • 2oz Urban Distilleries Pauls Tombs Gin
  • 1oz Lemon Juice
  • .75oz Simple Syrup
  • Muddled 6 Blueberries
  • Muddled 4 Lemon Balm Leaves
  • 2oz Soda Water
  • Garnish with a lemon balm sprig or use strawberry leaves like me
Directions

In a cocktail shaker muddle the blueberries and lemon balm leaves. Add in the Gin, lemon juice and simple syrup. Then add lots of ice to fill up the shaker and shake hard for 10 seconds until nice and cold. Double strain the drink using a tea strainer into a rock glass with fresh ice. Top up with soda water and garnish with strawberry leaves or mint sprig.
