Start at Olivia's Oils & Vinegars on Bernard Avenue
Olivia’s Oils & Vinegars is just across from City Park and is a must for locals to stock their shelves and visitors to pick up delicious take homes. Locally owned and operated, this food shop has an incredible array of high-quality flavoured and pure olive oils, vinegars and spices in shop. Imported from the top olive oil producers in the world, the best part is that they offer sampling of their products to help you choose the next wow for your pantry or a special gift for your cooking friends.
Walk up Bernard Avenue to The Lakehouse Home Store
The Lakehouse Home Store has been a dreamy go-to for any and all of your kitchen needs. Located right on Bernard Avenue, this beautiful shop offers two floors of all that you could ever want for your home and cooking needs – including a new world-class cooking school space offering a wide array of classes and events all year long.

Cross Bernard Avenue over to Mosaic Books
Most every food lover is kind of obsessed with cookbooks and while traveling, they tend to want a cookbook featuring the local food scene to take home with them. Mosaic Books has been Kelowna’s favourite independent bookstore and largest independent bookstore in the Okanagan since 1968! Here you will find all of the local cookbooks and more. Might I recommend a couple of books you might like? The BC Wine Lover’s Cookbook and The Butcher, The Baker, The Wine & Cheese Maker-In the Okanagan feature the local food and wine scene – stories, recipes, touring ideas and more. I know the author of these books is very proud of her delicious community (wink).
Go Down Pandosy Street to The Okanagan Table
Take a right on Pandosy Street off Bernard and in a couple of blocks you will find The Okanagan Table. Opened by one of our most celebrated Chefs Rod Butters and his team, in store you can purchase a variety of sauces, pastas, dressings, soups created in house by their chef crew. There are 100+ items on offer made from ingredients sourced from local, passionate food artisans. Here they also offer excellent cooking classes to further your local food education.
Head up Bernard Avenue and Ellis Street to Karat Chocolate Boutique & Cafe
Nearby just off Bernard, enjoy a coffee break and one of the city’s most decadent, glamorous pastries at Karat Chocolate Boutique & Cafe. Here they have a selection of sweet treats to thrill your eyes as well as your palate. They of course, also have amazing chocolate, the creations of chef and owner Julian Helman, these pretty packages make for are the perfect souvenir to take home (if you can control yourself).

Back up Bernard to The District on Bernard and into Ready to Cook
There is a wonderful store located in The District on Bernard called Ready To Cook. Owned and operated by Tetiana Kopets, a new member of our food community from the Ukraine, she creates amazing frozen Ukrainian dishes that are all made in-house with fresh, local ingredients. If you time it right, you can watch her making the food through the glass window at the shop.
Now, walk North down Ellis Street to the Ellis St Market
Now head north to Ellis St Market is Kelowna’s newest food market that loaded with all you need to cook up a storm at home. This locally owned store has packed its shelves with ingredients from around the world as well as fresh and local items. Here you can fill your cart with everything you need including items from their deli, freezer section and don’t miss the sweet treats from their authentic Japanese bakery – mochi anyone?

Walk South up Gaston Avenue to Richter Street, ending at Perseval & Young Cheesemongers
Perseval & Young Cheesemongers is Kelowna’s beloved cheese shop. Located in the brewery district (plan nice place to pop in for a beer while on your walkabout), here you will find a superb range of international and local cheeses and other delights on offer to create a cheese board at home . You can also ask them to create a board for you or choose a bag of their favourites for you to pick up and take to a party or picnic.
