The arrival of winter brings with it the desire to be inside our cozy warm homes and just sit back and watch Netflix. But this can get boring pretty quick. There is so much to take in during the winter in Kelowna to get you out and exploring the city, this list offers something to do for everyone.

1. New York New Years - December 31, 2017

This one-night event is held in Jim Stuart Park and the Kelowna Community Theatre, is free to attend and features activities and entertainment that appeals to a wide range of ages and tastes.
 

2. Dan Mangan on New Years Eve - December 31, 2017

Kelowna Concierge and Start Fresh Kitchen are pleased to present Kelowna’s most exclusive New Year’s Eve event, featuring an intimate concert by two-time JUNO Award winning indie-rock musician, Dan Mangan. Hosted on the panoramic seventeenth floor of Landmark 6, the event includes the concert, bar service, food by Start Fresh Kitchen, late night dancing and unparalleled views of the fireworks.
 

3. Dine Around Thompson Okanagan - January 18 - February 4, 2018

This two and half week food festival gives you the opportunity to sip, savour and save your way through more than 50 restaurants. Each participating restaurant showcases a three-course menu for $15, $25, $35 or $45 + tax/grat/wine. It’s the perfect time to get out and try new to you restaurants or visit your favourites that you don’t get out and enjoy often enough. The website will be launched in early December, check back there often as restaurants are added daily until the festival starts.
 

4. Canadian Culinary Championships - February 2 - 3, 2018

Eleven Chefs from across Canada come together in Kelowna for two days and three competitions as they each compete to win gold and hit the podium in this finale event. You can attend one or all three events during the competition. You also get to enjoy these plates being created on tight budgets and slim timeline challenges, and watch the challenges as these Chefs showcase their best.


5. Rock of Ages - January 5 - 13, 2018

New Vintage Theatre proudly remounts their record-setting production of Rock of Ages. Featuring iconic songs from Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar and more, this Tony award-winning show about a small town girl and boy who go to LA to make it big features a killer band and cast that will bring you right back to the 1980's on leave you wanting more.
 

6. Sister Act - February 7 - 25, 2018

Kelowna Actors Studio presents: Sister Act, the feel-good musical comedy smash based on the hit 1992 film. Sing Hallelujah for this new, ridiculously fun, feel-good musical that will have you jumping to your feet! Delores Van Cartier, a ‘wannabe’ Las Vegas diva’s life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in – where else – a convent! Under the suspicious and watchful eye of Mother Superior, Delores wins the sisters’ hearts and helps them find their voices as she unexpectedly discovers her own. Can we get an AMEN!

7. Kelowna Rockets Hockey Games
