AN INTRODUCTION TO KELOWNA

WHAT TO COVER ON YOUR FIRST SUMMER VISIT

With more than 40 wineries, an ever-expanding craft beer, spirits, and cider scene, endless farm-to-table dining options, and tons of outdoor adventure, it can be hard to narrow down what to do while visiting Kelowna.  Here’s some suggestions on how to fill three days in the city.

Day 1

Stay downtown and hike Knox Mountain, then cool off with a dip at Tugboat Bay Beach.  Quench your thirst at one of downtown Kelowna’s many breweries, enjoy a tasting at an urban winery or visit a local coffee shop for a caffeine fix.

Day 2

Take in the epic city and Okanagan Lake views while cycling across 18 trestle bridges and through two tunnels up at Myra Canyon. On your way back through town, check out some of the wineries on Kelowna’s Southeast Bench. Then, stroll along the waterfront boardwalk as the sun sets.

Day 3

Make it a lake day.  Relax on one of the more than 30 beaches in the area, get your adrenaline pumping by renting a jet ski or going flyboarding, or work up an appetite on the Kelowna Paddle Trail. Once you’re finished at the lake, explore the Lakeshore Wine Trail before savouring a scrumptious dinner.
