A WINTER WEEKEND IN WINE COUNTRY

A weekend is not enough time to take in all that Kelowna has to offer, but you can get a taste of our valley vibes. Below is a jam-packed itinerary for visiting Canada's four-season playground.

Day 1

Upon arrival to the city, check-in to the cozy, lakeside Hotel Eldorado where you’ll be treated to boutique rooms and delicious food options. Don’t linger too long though, because once you’ve dropped your bags, it’s time to explore. In the winter, one of the best ways to get a sense of Kelowna is by visiting wineries. all of the wineries of the Lakeshore Wine Route are open every day. This route will take you to some of the oldest wineries in the city, which means you’ll taste wines from some of the most mature vines in the area. End your tasting tour with a meal at the Summerhill Pyramid Winery Bistro or Home Block at CedarCreek. After a delicious meal, head back to the Eldorado and enjoy have a whisky nightcap beside the fire.

Day 2

The next day is all about wandering Kelowna neighbourhoods. After getting your fill from the delicious breakfast options at the hotel, grab a coffee and wander Pandosy Village for unique shops and restaurants before heading downtown. Once in the city centre, you’ll find bakeries, restaurants, shops, breweries, cideries, and the first urban winery in the city – Sandhill. Get your heart racing by skating lakeside at Stuart Park; rentals are available on site. Once you’re done there, stop in to warm up with a homemade and handmade hot chocolate from Karat. Top your day off with bowling or bocce at BNA Brewery or, if you’re up for it, explore more of the northend breweries before heading back to your cozy hotel room.

Day 3

Before heading back home, be sure to get brunch at one of the top spots in town and get your coffee fix – options are endless and located throughout the city. Check out our not one, but TWO, blog posts on local coffee shops.

Not done exploring the Central Okanagan?  Make sure to add a day trip to Big White to your visit, you won’t regret it!
