Mission Creek Greenway is often thought of by locals as a nice shady walk, away from the hot sun of summer. However, my favourite time to visit this linear park is in the fall and winter when the colors and contrasts are at their peak!

I love Kelowna sunsets in the fall and winter. They don't last as long as summer sets, but the intensity of colours is unrivaled! Pinks, oranges, blues, and purples fill the sky, while hues of orange, red and yellow are cast onto the trees and ground.

And when you catch a clear sky day, make sure to look up and see those colourful leaves against a bluebird sky!

Then the snow came.

We lucked out this year and explored the Mission Creek Greenway right after the first snowfall, when the leaves were still in their autumn glory. This is one of my favorite times of year to shoot, because the contrast of bright colors and the blanket of snow is unparalleled. The time between seasons is so beautiful.

Our favorite entrance points to the park are at Ziprick and Springfield roads, and near the roundabout of Casorso and Swamp roads. They both have ample parking and lots room for snow angels and snowball fights!
