Kelowna’s semi-arid climate and long summer days create the perfect golfer’s paradise. A prime destination for golfing in the Pacific Northwest, Kelowna is home to 15 courses. Designer courses by such greats as Les Furber and Jack Nicklaus offer gorgeous and challenging terrain with meticulous greens, and breathtaking views.
In Kelowna it is easy to spend your morning teeing off on one of our fabulous courses and the afternoon touring wineries or enjoying a leisurely sail on Okanagan Lake. In Kelowna the golf season starts early in March and runs to November making it very possible to ski or snowboard in the morning and play a round in the afternoon.
A golf getaway is easy to design with so many activities to choose from. Below is a sample one-day itinerary. Whether you’re here for a week or a day we have plenty for everyone.
• Imagine your day starting with a morning round of 18 holes through an orchard or rolling hills on one of Kelowna’s premium courses. There is a course for every age and skill level
• For the afternoon join one of Kelowna’s touring companies. Learn about aging wine in a pyramid; visit underground caverns, tour the winemaking facilities and of course sample some of the Okanagan’s best reds, whites, sparkling, and ice wine varieties.
• If your are looking for a more active afternoon you may wish to join a cycling tour, hike wildflower trails or canoe on one of the many lakes in the valley.
• Kelowna offers an array of dining experiences from casual outdoor cafés to fine dining experiences. The cuisine at many restaurants features fresh local produce and Okanagan wines.
• Kelowna boasts a year-round schedule of cultural experiences in its theaters and art galleries. In the summer months our parks come alive with outdoor plays and concerts and community festivals.
