Volunteer Kelowna is YOUR Volunteer Centre! Operated as a program of Kelowna Community Resources, we promote volunteerism and advocate on behalf of volunteers. We provide education and training to voluntary organizations on issues related to volunteerism and the voluntary sector.

On Line Volunteer Matching Database
As of November 2005, all volunteer opportunities listed with Volunteer Kelowna will be available on line. To register your volunteer opportunities, simply fill in and return the forms below. As an added advantage, your organization will also be listed in Kelowna Community Resource's Directory of Community Information. The public will be able to access your information two ways on line, either by searching for volunteer opportunities in sports and recreation, or through seeking services in sports and recreation. To see a live example, click on www.fourinfo.com and conduct a search! To list is free. However, we are asking for an annual $30.00 contribution to help offset annual license fees and administration.

Special Events Volunteer Listing
Some individuals wish to volunteer sporadically through the year. Others simply want to volunteer only at special events. Another group of individuals, hankering to volunteer at the Olympics will also want to increase their sport event volunteering. So how do you tap into these specialized episodic volunteers? Volunteer Kelowna maintains a roster of just such individuals. Call or email us today to have this list of volunteers sent to you.

Recruit volunteers in local media
Need another medium to recruit your volunteer opportunities? Or have a special event or sporting event approaching? Need some new insight on your Board of Directors? You can use Volunteer Kelowna’s weekly Volunteer Vibe column in Showcase Magazine to do just that! Send us your 150 word article by email to volcentre@kcr.ca and we xll print it in the next available column. To ensure it is printed when you need it, send it to us 3 weeks in advance.
And be sure to include the following information:
What is your organization?
What volunteer support do you need?
What would volunteers do?
How do volunteers support what you do?
What benefits can they expect?
How do they contact you/get more information?
